                                                               Philosophy of Ministry

I am in ministry to change the lives of others by sharing the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.  I believe that the purpose of ministry is to love God, love others, and serve our community.  I am ministering to the lost and downtrodden, the successful and the impoverished.  I believe by serving others and showing Christ’s love to those who do not know Him, I can help build the kingdom of Heaven.  My goals for the people that I minister to are: spiritual growth, scriptural competence, and effective witnessing.  The most important feature of ministry to me is to share the love of Christ with others.  I believe that God is most concerned with our relationship to Him.  I enjoy spending time outside of the church getting to know people and what is important to them.  I would like to achieve a multi-denominational church setting where the barriers of denominations are broken down to a point in which only the love of Christ for each other remain.

The church is identified, not by the walls that surround it but rather, by the people that make up the body of Christ.  I believe that the church should consist of the four-fold ministry modeled by Jesus Christ Himself.  This would include: preaching, teaching, healing, and deliverance.  I would like to see the church progress to a positive pro-evangelizing direction that promotes love and unity among both believers, and non-believers.  I think the primary and critical foundations for the church are unity and mutual love and respect for others.  I believe that Jesus Christ is the foundation and we are the cornerstones.

Mission
1st Church of God Reno aims to serve God, serve each other, and serve the community in the best representation of Jesus Christ.  We invite the lost, meek, downtrodden, and successful to participate in Jesus’ unending love for us.  We love all and we welcome all to our church, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or financial status.

Vision
Our vision is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through a virtual medium to help reach the ends of the earth with the Gospel message.

Values
1. We are whole heartedly committed to the spiritual growth of the Christian community.

2. We are not a specific church; we are members from all local churches.
3. We rest in the grace of God and devote ourselves to prayer and meditating on Scripture.
